Lovely Neighbors AGAIN
I got up this morning and found that someone had broken into our car and rifled through our glove box, ash tray, and whatever else they could find. This makes the fourth time this has happened since I have lived in this house. Thankfully there was nothing valuable in the car for them to take. I have grown up in this neighborhood my entire life with the exception of a ten year stretch when we were in the Air Force living elsewhere. It really pains me to see the brat teenagers doing this sort of thing. I understand that a person is just as likely to be a victim anywhere but at this moment I am a little upset that someone had been going through our personal property.
I am so glad our neighbors on the East side finally moved out because they had a barking dog that kept us up at night. Also you may remember the graffiti on their tree house that I posted about earlier. Whoever owns that rent house is clearly only interested in making money as they make no attempt at regular maintenance. The last tenant that lived in that house moved out and the owners never even repainted after he moved out before the new tenants moved in. Remember the ice storm in December 2007? They still have a pile of tree branches laying in the back yard and the grass is growing through them. Now after the new tenants just moved out, the owners just put a for rent sign out front without even so much as opening the front door. It is just like the last time. Who ever moves into this house will not even get a new paint job. The last time the house stayed vacant six months and the owner never mowed the lawn even once until the day before the new tenants moved in. Since they did not bag the grass, it looked like a field just before they bail the hay. Now the neighbors moved out this past weekend and the grass was six inches tall when they moved out. Let’s see how tall the grass gets before they mow the grass.
As long as all my neighbor’s houses look like they are about to collapse, it affects the value of my own home. We are looking for new homes in the vicinity but out of this neighborhood. I am just curious how many times I can get my car broken into before we can escape. There are some decent people around here but the ones that are trouble makers tend to cast a dark shadow on everyone else. I hope the responsible people around here will stand up and hold these guys responsible. If not, we all become victims. I just had to vent this morning…
