I appreciate your concern but that house is a rent house meaning people come and go. Those people will likely not even be there by the time we move. The dog is not the only reason I want to move but it gets on my nerves mostly because I know I am leaving. Have you ever had a job that you hated but you put up with it quietly? Then another job comes along and you know there is a way out so you start to voice you concerns now that yo can leave. If those people were there to stay, I may consider what you are saying but that is not likely the case. In the ten years I have lived in this house, there have been at least five different tenants in that house. The way I see it, anyone that comes to look at a house will likely walk around in the yard as well. If the dog is still here then he will bark at them and they will see and hear it.

Secondly I find your post a little disingenuous as you mention that you went through the same thing and then begin to lecture me on my integrity. This is obvious that you are only here as a troll to start trouble when you come in here and speak to me as another victim and then preach to me about my responsibilities. I reject that out of hand. I would not intentionally do anyone wrong just to make a sale but I will not sign a disclosure for my troublesome neighbor. Why don't you preach about the dog owner's responsibilities? For this reason I do not see your post as a legitimate discussion. If you were trying to be sincere, it is suspect simply because of the way you started off as being a fellow victim and then not once mentioning their responsibilities but rather mine. That is analogous to preaching to a rape victim about their responsibilities for being a victim.

I will say it again, I would never intentionally deceive a potential buyer. If that dog is still there when a buyer comes to see the house, they will see it then and nothing will be hidden. Now if I were to have a structure problem and I knew about it and did not tell them, you may have a point. Again, I appreciate your concern if you were genuinely meaning it but you must admit that it does sound a bit suspicious the way you pointed it out to me.

Was attracted to your blog due to the dog barking post. I have Google Alerts for "dog bark"....long story, but along the same lines of what you are experiencing with the coon dog of your neighbor. Then I saw your post about selling your home and I was prompted to write. If you fill out a seller disclosure form, on which you should be totally honest, you more than likely will have to disclose the 'noise nuisance' problem that the dog is creating. I've been heavily involved with the whole barking issue for two years, ever since the problems we had with neighbors. I've written to real estate agents regarding any unresolved noise issue and the effect on a home sale. They all agreed that a barking dog will turn off a fair amount of prospective buyers even before they enter the home for a look-see. I would also think it unfair of you to not reveal the noise issue to a 'serious' buyer. I do hope you know where I am coming from, as you stated yourself that this dog has ruined any 'fun' or 'relaxing' time in your yard. I just wanted to throw this out there if you do decide to fill out a seller disclosure and not reveal this issue that you yourself have found annoying. Thanks for your time and good luck with the sale...
