Third Day off Work
I have noticed a pattern where I keep catching the same thing again and again. It seems like every time the wind starts blowing real hard, I start getting head and chest congestion. Now it is infected in both lungs but not to the point of pneumonia. This is the fourth time that I have had this since January. I went to the doctor yesterday and they gave me some antibiotics, $261.00 for 14 pills. Outrageous! They also gave me an inhaler to open the air ways so that I can cough this nasty stuff up. In 2007 this same thing wound up being pneumonia and I had to go to the hospital because my oxygen levels were too low. I hate wasting vacation days over something like this. Hopefully it will go away soon and then I will not have to burn any more days.
Speaking of burning… We have not had any measurable precipitation since February resulting in wildfires all over the state. When you add to the story that the wind has been blowing steadily from 20 – 40 MPH for weeks, it makes it even more dangerous. The wind has stirred up so much dust and smoke in the area that it is no wonder I am having lung issues. Please pray that we get some rain and lots of it soon. We are already more than five inches below normal just since January. We were already more than three inches below normal before January. The weather has been hotter than normal. It is still April and we have been 90+ degrees many days already. We usually do not hit 90 until May. I am thinking that getting some moisture in the air would help moderate the temperatures. When the ground is moist, the temperatures usually do not get that hot. I am afraid that if this drought continues, we will have another one of those extremely hot summers where the temperatures exceed 110.
Our lives have been so busy lately that I have not had time to post on this blog too much. There were a few times where I almost posted my outrage over the government’s budget and out of control spending. Also the media’s complete dereliction of duty in reporting the whole story on the matter. I chose not to because I do not want this blog to be nothing but rage and complaining. I think I do enough of that on here. Sometimes you have to just have some faith that God is in control and let it go. It is not worth it to get yourself worked up into a rage all the time because all it does is damages your own health. I for one would like to be around for a while so I will let others do the fight for me. I guess I have rambled on long enough. Thanks for stopping by.
