The Time is Now

It doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to know that those of us that believe Jesus is the son of God that died that we could be saved by faith are a target in the United States.  It is amazing to see how fast things have changed in our own country just since the 1970’s. With each passing decade, I am amazed at how far we have strayed as compared to the last and this should surprise no one.

The amazing push toward depravity on every front for no other reason to be ‘free from religion” is astounding.  People can disagree on issues and still get along for the most part but there is a move of “anti-Christ” that is moving across America with a vengeance.  People are driven with hatred toward Christianity.  They are passionate and determined to destroy any semblance of Christianity, not religion.  This hatred is very specific to Christianity despite many of their claims against us being far worse in other religions.  Despite Islam telling their followers to kill those that don’t believe, the world defends them and labels anyone that would stand against them as “Islamaphobics“.

It is Christianity that is hated despite the fundamental requirement to love their enemies. Why do they hate Christians so much?  If you were to ask them you would get a whole host of reasons that are nothing more than symptoms.  Some of which are…

Christians are homophobic

Christians are hypocrites

Christians are oppressive to women

Christians are filled with hate

When a person lists these things, they are usually seething with anger, a symptom of someone that is driven with animosity. One could say hatred.  How can one accuse another person of hatred while in the midst of hating so much?  Why that may be called hypocrisy.  Islam forces women to wear covers over their head but those that point them out are called Islamaphobic.  Those that hate Christianity so much will defend Islam for things that are obviously worse that anything they claim Christianity is guilty of.

People are dancing in the streets with excitement over Supreme Court decisions as though they have struck another blow at who?  Christians!  They are more excited at the idea that they got another win over Christians than they are about their cause in the first place.  You may be reading this and saying, here goes Paul on another rant but I say… No! I am not angry at all.  With each defeat in the American system, I feel affirmed in my faith because Jesus told us of these days. Christians should not be stressed out and worried that we are losing in the world because the world was destined to be lost as a whole in the first place.  Our purpose is not to convince the world of Jesus but to convince individuals.

The world is expected to hate us.  To think otherwise makes Jesus a liar.  The world has the megaphone in the entertainment industry, the news media, the broadcast media, print media, the government, etc.  We cannot and will not win against the megaphone.  Most will not find the way but some will.  Even Jesus said in Matthew…

13. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14 KJV

When you add to this,  you can continue on to verse 15 it speaks of false prophets in the church that make things even worse.

15. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Matthew 7:15-16

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to read the Bible and learn it.  There was a time up until now that a Christian could be weak and just not say anything to avoid persecution and even prosecution but those times are over.

With the passage of the most recent Supreme Court ruling, and the incredible attacks of Paula Deen for something she did many years ago while being attacked herself, should be an eye opener.

As you can see in this video, Gloria Allred has appointed herself as the arbiter of  who can be forgiven for doing what?  For saying a word, that is right. Paula Deen said a word and so this makes her unfit to hold a job, to live peaceably in society?  Is there a law against saying this word? No!  My point is not to defend this word but to illustrate where things are going.

Paula Deen is no better or worse than the rest of us in that she has lived in the world where a word was said again and again in her presence.  She lived in the culture and said that word and now the culture has changed where that word is no longer acceptable.  In this culture, she should be held accountable for the rest of her life for a single word she said many years ago.

Now we have to look back to the last two decades in American at something that has been happening quietly and seemingly innocuous.  There has been a movement to create “hate crimes” legislation both in the federal government and in state governments.  The media throws that term around freely without thought.  You have to sit back and ask yourself why there is a need for hate crimes legislation.  Assault, rape, murder are already crimes that have stiff punishments.  Why do we need hate crimes laws?

The answer to that question is to silence people and take away their First Amendment rights to free speech in cases where you think differently than the culture.  If a person’s attitude can be determined to be “hate”, then they forfeit their right to free speech.  Who determines what is considered “hate”?  In a culture where religion is ostracized and deemed to be inappropriate, then who decides morality and what is acceptable?  Core values become subjectivity. Right and wrong become nothing more than opinions. Your values have no more value than mine.   Who decides what is right or wrong is the community, the collective, the culture at large.

How does the community come to a consensus?  The answer to that question is answered by another one… Who has the megaphone?  The world without God has no right and wrong.  Unfortunately there is a god and he is the god of the Bible.  Our God is real whether anyone acknowledges Him or not.  If the Bible is true, then it also speaks of a devil.  The world that rejects God is under the influence of a spiritual evil whether they realize it or not.

21. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Romans 1:21-28 KJV

This describes the United States in 2013 like nothing else.  These are powerful words and offensive to those that engage in the practice.  Since we have determined that excluding God, it is the culture that decides right and wrong. We further determined that the one with the megaphone leads the charge. This would be the entertainment industry, the broadcast media, etc.  Since we also determined that the culture changes, and we know how vengeful they are with people that say the wrong word like Paula Deen, we know we are next.

To be a Christian, you will soon not be able to sit in the shadows and not say anything, hoping to not offend anyone.  The powers that oppose God are emboldened as they were foretold in the Bible.  They will soon be coming after you and I and challenging us to profess that we are Christians so that we can pay the consequences.  We will not be able to simply say “I don’t hate anyone” because they will counter with the question “Do you believe what the Bible says?” and a yes answer makes you guilty of hate.  Once guilty of hate, you are no longer fit for a job, for life in a civilized world as they see it.

Are you going to be strong enough to stand and say “YES” when that question comes?  To be able to have that strength, you are going to have to know God and know his words. To speak these words and allow God’s power to work through you, then you need to know them and not what someone else says that it says.  We cannot be lazy and expect others to read the Bible and tell us what it says because there are false prophets among us.  I know I sound like a broken record but you must must must spend time in God’s word and learn it.  Don’t listen to a self proclaimed Prophet whether they are real or not.  If you don’t know the word, then you won’t know that you are being fooled.  You can trust that as a Christian, you will be persecuted and you will have to account for your belief as long as you live in this world.  Jesus even said so.  The world is coming after us even if we don’t say a word.  We will be forced to acknowledge Jesus and pay the worldly consequences or denounce Jesus.  Those choices are non negotiable if you read God’s words.  Be ready.
