This is a day that we all look forward to and it has finally arrived. We are up bright and early this morning so we can go see some relatives on this Thanksgiving Day. I wish my oldest son could go with us but he has to work today. I will take many pictures and post them on Flickr while we are there. It is a very chilly 32 degrees this morning at 6:00 AM. Yesterday my son and I worked on painting the East side of the house as well as taking down my high frequency (HF) antenna from the tower. It was sort of sad taking the antennas down but it is a price to pay to move. I cannot sell a house with 400 cables coming out of the house. Just kidding, it was really 401 . Soon I am going to have to take the 443.3 MHz repeater down as well for the same reason. This repeater will likely be relocated to my dad’s house though the WIN System may be down for a considerable time because I will have to transmit the signal to his house. You can only have one IRLP node per external IP address and he cannot have both of them at his house though he can have both repeaters there.

My beautiful wife Sunday worked all day long cooking for today’s event. I just hope we can fit it all in the car. I gained 100 pounds just smelling the food cooking yesterday. This morning we are trying to clean up the house, shower, and get the food to the car without dropping any of it. This should be a challenge but I think we can do it.

I will post updates to Twitter/Facebook from my phone while I am with the family. These updates also show up to the right side of this page. It looks like it is going to be a great weather day at 60 degrees and tomorrow is going to be 70. We could not ask for better weather.

You may remember my rant about Google Wave a few day ago. My complaint was that after a month, I had no one to try it on because I could not invite my own family and friends. Well this week, they sent me eight invites, and then by the time, I got down to two, it went back up to 10. I have now sent them out to people that I thought would actually sign up and use it. Hopefully over time, they will send out more but for now I am satisfied and I take back all the horrible things I said earlier. It does work pretty good but there is one glitch that I have notice. Keep in mind that it is a beta release but my friend Kevin Davis, has been added to my contacts at least 10 times and every time I come back, he is gone. It is only him that is doing it. Maybe I should talk to him and ask if he is deleting me . Just kidding. He and used Google Wave for over an hour a couple days ago.

Remember to be thankful to God for all the blessings you have on this day. I can honestly say that we have been very blessed. It looks like I am holding up the family’s progress this morning so I better get this posted.

This weekend we went to my father in law’s house in Checotah, Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. With the exception of two people engaging in a small political argument it was a pretty good time. There were many family relatives that showed and for the most part, everyone enjoyed themselves. This morning my wife and I defied logic and went to buy a few items for Christmas. This was the first time in our 19 year marriage that we have done this. Now that I have done this, I can tell you that it is a mistake as I found out that we were sold the wrong item. We were rushed through and I did not get a good feeling from the beginning. I was half way home before I noticed this. I am hoping that they will make things good without too much trouble. Honestly I hate going to a store and having a sales representative hovering over me. If I need help, then I will seek them out. Then we went out to breakfast as a family and had a good time.

I am so tired of school work and I am ready for this to be over. I just turned on the television and heard about an attack in Mumbai, India. Apparently this has been going on for a couple of days. Let’s hope and pray those people are doing okay. I usually do not watch the national news because it is design to incite anger among their viewers. If you think I am just making this up, just watch them. The theme is usually black against white, rich against poor, old against young, big business against the workers, Republican against Democrat, and a whole host of political correctness that I will not mention. For that reason, I choose not to partake in their games.

It has been a bad week at work so I have not felt like posting for a few days. Jack, I did receive your message and I agree with you. Thanks for the input.

If there is anything that really gets to me is the never ending “Happy Holidays” or Holiday this or Holiday that. It is CHRISTmas! We do not buy gifts for New Years Day, or Thanksgiving Day. This is the Christmas season period. Lets not forget that Christmas is the birth of Jesus. It has nothing to do with the fictitious Santa Claus. It amazes me that the very people on television that tell you to go buy a gift for your loved one for this “Holiday” season do not even believe in Jesus. This is one topic that really gets on my nerves. The commercials are all about getting your money and making you feel guilty than recognizing the true meaning of Jesus’ birth. There have been studies to show that most Americans would rather them say “Merry Christmas” as opposed to Happy Holidays but they will not do it because in this politically correct climate, they do not want to offend the one minority. In America the minority rules the majority. We do not want to offend the minority so we completely disregard the majority. Something is not right there.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We went to Wynnewood, Oklahoma to my grandmother’s house. We stopped going to her house before I went into the Air Force because my family always told me that she does not need the noise. We had a very good time. I took 157 photos and more than two hours of video. If you are family and logged into Flickr, you can see the photos here. My wonderful wife and my oldest son went down there yesterday and cooked all night for the family and my youngest son and I went today.

I really enjoyed this day and was able to completely relax. I am thankful for so much in my life and I owe it all to God, and Sunday. I was able to see so many relatives that I had not seen in years and it was really rewarding. Well since it is nearly midnight, I will say good night and wish the best to all of you.

Sometimes people tell me they would like to blog but do not understand how. I have found an option for those that do not like technical things. It is Microsoft Live Writer. This is an application that is a “what you see is what you get” (WYSIWYG) editor that will allow you to post to any number of blogs simply by typing what you want and clicking “Publish”.

All you need to do is click “weblog” in the tools menu then select “Add weblog account”. Of course it will default to the Windows Live Spaces blogging service that Microsoft runs but it will allow you to set up your blog on other providers also. All you have to do is put in the URL of your blog with your user name and password and it will detect your settings. It has the usual blogging features like adding pictures, adding links, and adding tags for the majority of the blogging aggregators. It runs on all the major blogging services such as WordPress, Blogger, Moveable Type, and others.

Microsoft Windows Live Writer as you might have guessed only runs on Windows. I personally like it. I don’t like that it will not run on Mac or Linux but what do you expect from Microsoft? I also like the fact that you can have multiple blogs on different servers. I think you should try it out. If blogs have intimidated you in the past, I believe this will get you online quick.
